Gut Ritual+ Has Landed — Skin, Gut, Energy, Upgraded

By Beth FAQs

How much should I take? (Dosage)

Your daily serving depends on where you are in your collagen or gut-health journey.

Collagen (All Blends)

Maintenance:

  • 1 teaspoon per day (2g) is all you need.
  • Our collagen is pure, potent, unflavoured or naturally flavoured — no fillers, so you don’t need 10–20g like other brands.

Boost / Load Phase (Optional):

This is for customers who have not taken collagen before and therefore have low natural collagen stores in their body. Also for customers looking to speed up their results.

  • 3-4 teaspoons daily (6–8g total)
  • If you want an initial “loading phase,” take 1 tsp, 4–5 times per day for the first 2–3 weeks, then return to maintenance.

If you have a target mg you like to hit (e.g., 10,000 mg), simply increase your number of teaspoons. Because our collagen is 100% pure, 1 teaspoon = 2,000 mg.

How soon will I see results?

Every body is different, but most customers notice:

Within 3–7 days
 Less bloating
 Calmer digestion
 More steady energy
 Better hydration

Within 4–8 weeks
 Firmer, bouncier skin
 More radiance & glow
 Stronger nails
 Fuller, healthier hair

At 12 weeks+
 Optimal collagen renewal
Visible improvement in elasticity & fine lines
 Gut-brain benefits (focus, clarity, mood)

Consistency is everything — small daily habits = big long-term results.

Is By Beth safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Many women choose to continue collagen during pregnancy and breastfeeding because it is simply a pure protein powder (hydrolysed bovine collagen, with no additives, fillers or flavours).
Gut Ritual+ is also made from real food ingredients.

However — every pregnancy is unique, and we cannot offer individual medical advice.

We strongly recommend checking with your GP, obstetrician or healthcare provider before using any supplement during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

What does it taste like?

We have four blends — each with a different taste profile:

Original Unflavoured

Completely tasteless. No smell. No aftertaste. Disappears in coffee, smoothies, water or food.

Wattle + Plum (Vitamin C Blend)

Soft and subtle with gentle wood + nut undertones from the wattle seed and a light fruity finish from the Davidson plum.

Fruit + Floral (Vitamin C Blend)

Delicately fruity and floral, similar to adding cucumber + mint to water — refreshing, soft, never overpowering.

Gut Ritual+ (Pink & Sweet)

Starts deep pink, turns bright pink in water.
Softly sweet, Queen Garnet plum forward, with a light citrus finish and a gentle native mint note.

All blends dissolve beautifully (shaking is best), and because they’re flavoured with real native botanicals, you may see tiny flecks — this is completely natural.

What is collagen and why is it so important?

The most abundant protein in the body, collagen has many vital functions including giving the skin structure, strength and elasticity. Starting in our 20s, we rapidly begin to lose our natural supply of it each year - resulting in visible signs of ageing. Sun exposure, smoking and alcohol consumption can accelerate this breakdown even further. Ingestible collagen provides the protein in hydrolysed form - meaning it is broken down into smaller units, including amino acids and peptides, which are easily digested and distributed throughout the body and skin.

What are the benefits of ingestible collagen?

Ingestible collagen delivers results you can see and feel — because it works from within, where topical creams simply can’t reach.

Clinical research shows hydrolysed bovine collagen can help:

 Skin Hydration & Glow
Replenishes moisture from within for plumper, dewy, healthier-looking skin.

 Reduced Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Supports the collagen matrix in the dermis to visibly soften lines over time.

 Improved Elasticity & Firmness
Helps skin maintain bounce and structure as natural collagen declines with age.

 Stronger Hair & Nails
Provides key amino acids that support hair thickness, shine, and nail growth.

 Gut Support
Emerging studies show collagen peptides may help support the intestinal barrier, calm irritation, and contribute to a healthier digestive environment.

In short: beauty, strength, and gut support — from the inside out.

What type of collagen does By Beth use?

All of our formulations use bovine collagen sourced from pasture-raised, grass-fed Australian cattle.

Why bovine collagen?

Generally speaking, there are two types of collagen on the market: marine (derived from fish skin and fish scales) and bovine (derived from cow hides). We use bovine collagen because we believe it is of a higher quality and has a more traceable supply chain. Bovine collagen is more compatible with the human body than marine collagen. It is also rich in both Type I collagen (the most abundant collagen found in the human body) and Type III collagen (the second most abundant collagen), whereas marine collagen only contains Type I collagen. Bovine collagen is rich in amino acids: glycine, proline and hydroxyproline and contains 14% more proline and 41% more hydroxyproline than marine collagen, as well as helping to produce creatine, which is beneficial for building muscle. It has little to no taste, whereas marine collagen can have a fishy taste. Our collagen is premium food grade and contains no fat, carbs, sugar or lactose.

Where is the collagen sourced?

All of our collagen is ethically sourced from pasture-raised, grass-fed Australian cattle. Australia has a global reputation for clean and green cattle farming, backed by strict quality controls and best practice systems in traceability, food safety and sustainability. In instances where there are shortages in Australian collagen (due to reasons posed by our harsh climate, such as drought), we supplement our supply with collagen sourced from pasture-raised, grass-fed New Zealand cattle. In line with our commitment to constant betterment, we are dedicated to finding ways to remain as Australian as possible and vouch to only release products of the highest quality.

How is the collagen extracted?

Collagen in its raw form needs to be broken down into smaller units in order to be absorbed and processed by the body. This form of collagen is called hydrolysed collagen (also referred to as collagen peptides or collagen hydrolysate) and is the result of a process called hydrolysis. Our collagen undergoes the hydrolysis process in America and is then sent back to us in its final form.

What are the benefits of native Australian botanicals?

Native Australian botanicals have huge significance in indigneous culture and have been used for medicinal, healing and ceremonial purposes for thousands of years. More recently, their benefits have been backed by science. Due to Australia being geographically isolated from the rest of the world and faced with challenging growing conditions, our native botanicals have supercharged themselves with high levels of antioxidants and vitamins in order to not only survive but thrive. When it comes to beauty, native botanicals deliver results - naturally. Active ingredients transform the skin at a cellular level and, because botanicals are derived straight from the source - the ground beneath us - they don’t require human intervention to be effective. Incredible antioxidant properties give these powerful plants the ability to fight the signs of ageing caused by free radicals and oxidative stress. They also provide a delicate yet sophisticated aroma and taste.

Where are the native Australian botanicals sourced?

Our formulations hero locally grown native botanicals, sourced directly from predominantly indigenous producers. We selectively work with suppliers based on their sustainable farming and grazing practices which help to regenerate the land and reverse climate change. By turning our attention to the abundance of Australia, we support the local economy and have full transparency over our supply chain.

How often should Itake collagen?

There are a few different ways to incorporate By Beth into your daily routine.

For Daily Beauty (Maintenance)

Ideal for anyone wanting to elevate their routine and experience the benefits of glowing skin, glossy hair and gorgeous nails. Simply add 1 teaspoon to 250ml of your preferred liquid of choice and take 3-4 serves per day. Blends beautifully with hot or cold liquids.

For Boosted Beauty (Loading)

New to collagen, in need of rapid repair or preparing for a special something? We suggest loading to increase your collagen levels over a short period of time. Simply add 1 teaspoon to 250ml of your preferred liquid of choice and take 4-5 serves per day for 2-3 weeks. After this period, revert to the dosage above (3-4 serves per day) for ongoing maintenance. You can read more about collagen loading here.*click through to blog post

How long until I see results?

Most of our customers report results within the first few weeks of incorporating By Beth into their daily beauty routine. We recommend allowing at least 28 days (the time in which it takes the skin to undergo its natural cycle of renewal) and ideally up to 3 months of continued use to see optimal results.

Can this product be used for cooking?

We recommend adding 1 teaspoon to 250ml of your preferred drink of choice (water, juice, smoothie, tea, coffee etc). The formulations blend beautifully with hot or cold liquids. If you want to experiment with using By Beth products in cooking, we recommend using The Original, which is unflavored. Mix the collagen with a hot liquid until it begins to dissolve. Let it stand for 5-10 minutes until cool, then add to your recipe of choice (smoothies, soups etc).

How is By Beth environmentally friendly?

Our biggest beauty inspiration is nature. We carefully consider both body and planet in everything we do. Our packaging materials have been selected for their environmental credentials and minimal impact. Our hero glass vessel is designed to be re-used for life. Why not organic?

The simple answer is we weren’t able to find someone local who could supply bovine collagen with organic certification. In all honesty it was unexpectedly difficult to find someone local who was able to supply the bovine collagen as is (most collagen brands source their product off-shore), let alone an Australian collagen supplier who also came with organic certification. Knowing where our product comes from is of utmost importance. We are comfortable having transparency over the supply chain and knowing that our bovine collagen comes from pasture-raised and grass-fed Australian cattle. The cattle are kosher certified, which means they have been managed in a very strict manner according to global best practice. While not organic by the technical definition, it’s very close and something we will strive towards in the future.

HOW DOES BY BETH COLLAGEN ACTUALLY GET ABSORBED AND USED BY THE BODY?

‘Native collagen’ naturally occurs in the bones, skin, and connective tissues of animals (e.g. cattle, pigs, fish). But in its native form, collagen is a long-chain protein that the human body cannot easily digest or absorb.

To be usable, collagen must first be broken down into shorter, smaller chains through a process called hydrolysis. These shorter chains are known as collagen peptides or hydrolysed collagen—and this is the form your body can actually absorb.

Research shows that hydrolysed collagen, because of its low molecular weight, is highly digestible, absorbed quickly, and efficiently transported throughout the body. Clinical studies demonstrate that collagen peptides reach the deeper layers of the skin (the dermis), supporting hydration, elasticity, firmness, wrinkle reduction, and overall skin health.

According to the Open Nutraceuticals Journal, once ingested, hydrolysed collagen is absorbed in the small intestine and enters the bloodstream as small peptides and free amino acids. These circulate throughout the body and accumulate particularly in the dermis, where they can remain active for up to 14 days.

Hydrolysed collagen supports your skin in two main ways:

  1. Provides the building blocks
The amino acids in collagen peptides supply the raw materials needed to form new collagen and elastin fibres.
  2. Stimulates new collagen production
Collagen oligopeptides act as signalling molecules (ligands), binding to receptors on fibroblasts—the skin’s collagen-producing cells—to promote the creation of new collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid.
